We all love our mail that you sent us. I would like to know what fabric is on the front of my card. I have never seen it be for. Thank you so much for the letter, Maria. It is really cool! And your hand righting very neat. Mrs. Schimel's bag is very pretty too!I had a great Christmas and a happy new year. Hope you have a good school year.

ReplyDeleteThank you for liking the card I sent you. That fabric is a bark of a certain local tree. Actually, I have not bothered to know what the English name of that tree is, but in my local language, it is called "Omutuba" The people who make that fabric peel the tree bark, they use a wooden mallet to hammer it until it forms that color and desired shape and size. That fabric has a lot of local uses in Uganda especially among the BAGANDA PEOPLE.
