There are a few people carrying out cattle farming in our community. But because of the limited space, they do not have where conveniently they can graze them. This leaves them with no option other than keeping them around where they stay. They therefore share the open water source with those who cannot afford to connect to National Water and Sewerage Cooperation.
This is where most of our children come from and we visited the place with Mrs. Susan during her visit.
Mrs. Susan wanted to know where we normally get the water. We basically use water provided by National Water and Sewerage cooperation at some cost. Whenever they disconnect us from the supply, we then resort to the open water source down where we went with Mrs. Susan. It is not very safe because it is located in areas where people graze their animals so the animals also use the same. We can also sometimes harvest rain water and we planned that one day we shall have a big water tank where we can collect the water to use after the rainy season. During the months of March, April, May, part of August, September, October, November.

Visitors From USA.
We were so privileged to welcome the visitors from Oregon. My students were so excited about the visit though they missed to see Mrs. Cindy. Mrs. Susan and the friends were also very pleased to come to see us, and I took them around were majority of our children come from. I have also posted some of the photos from where they come and somewhat reflecting their way of life.
I (Bawalagga) with Mrs. Susan, the Altrusan. Thank you so much all the Altrusan members of Pendleton for the gift of love you have given to us. My students are so happy about using the computer that you donated. The joy isn't easy to express by words but the hearts always reflect. God bless you so much.

My name is Marvin, I am now in primary seven. Last year I was in primary six but now I went to a new class. In which class are you? Iam so happy this year that I have learned many things at Great Valley. I used the camera to take the photos of my school and then posted them on the blog. It is so awesome for me to learn this.
This is also part of my school and i study from the right hand class room. We are very many in this class, over 72 students. How many are you in your class? Mrs. Susan came to our school last holiday and she entered our class. There were no students in class because it was holidays. Some of us were there training in music and dance.
Our school has been the best in most of the competitions around, winning most of the trophies. We are the champions of the division for last year. We also won the regional dance and music competitions.
This is the inside of my class. I took the photo when no children are there. We sit on desks. What do you sit on in your class?

Hello our beautiful friends,
My name is Deborah, and i go to Great Valley for school. I am in primary six and I love studying so much. I love being at school because I have many friends there. My favorite subject is mathematics and English. how are you over there? How is school and your life? Do you like going to school?
We just ended our long term holiday, and we are now back in classes. The last holiday we got visitors from USA and they came from your school. We were very excited to see them and they brought for us books, computer and some money that we have used to buy soya flour. It is so tasty and I like it. I am using the very computer that you sent us. Thank you so much for this awesome gift! I think we meet the best people in our lives. I have begun to trust that God is on our side and we shall win in all that we do.
My teachers are very encouraging and I love them so much. I have learnt a lot of things since I begun to study at Great Valley. Great Valley is really a place of joy because all my teachers are very close to us the children. My best teacher is Mr. Bawalagga and he is so kind to everyone of us. He teaches me mathematics and sometimes science. we are with him from morning through the whole day. I wish you come also and see him. Mrs. Susan took a photo with him and he is a young but very understanding person. he can help you in everything you want. He has also told us that your teachers are very good too. You will see him in the photo standing with Mrs. Susan.
I also happy that my friend Florence sat for her final examinations and passed them very well. When Mrs. Susan came to our school, it was very dusty and it is still very dusty and there is no rain so far. What is the weather at the moment in your school?
Your friend in Uganda,
Deborah.

My new life of using a computer.
Dear our friends, you have blessed us so much this year. I have learned a lot from our writing and communication.
I am so happy that I passed my examinations which I took at the end of the last year. I managed to get 08 aggregates and this is so wonderful of me. What I have leaned at Great Valley will stay forever.
Thank you so much for the computer you sent us. We are so happy to own a computer. There is a lot I have learned about the technology. If I get the chance to go to school again, i am sure the skills I am getting now will still help me. I have improved my speed in typing because I am taking more time since I have no classes at the moment.
How are you progressing in your studies? Do you also have to sit for national examinations at a given time? I had the chance to see Mrs. Susan who came from USA. She is so good. We got all the donation you made to us, we used the money you offered to buy Soya flour and we are adding it to the porridge that we take at school.
I also take more time to read the books you sent. Please God bless you always.
I wish you all the best in your studies.
Your friend in Kampala.
Patricia.

Thank you our Altrusan friends.
This was our food contribution from the Altrusans of Pendleton through the MercyCorps - Uganda. Here we were offloading from the vehicle of the MercyCorps. We are so thankful and we trust that our children will never sleep on an empty stomach any more.
Above are the pineapples, they are very important for our children's diet. In the white sack is the maize flour, that forms the biggest component of our daily meals at schools in Uganda.
In the middle is Mrs. Tsegay from MercyCprps that made the delivery. We are very overwhelmed by your heartfelt donation. It is God that will reward you for the generous hearts you have shown us. Every time our children smile, I know you will have the smile too.
Thank you all for loving us at Great Valley. We shall always have you at heart.
